Foulger-Pratt and Cheeriodicals Utilize Team Building to Spread Cheer to Children's National Health System

​Representatives from Foulger-Pratt, a Washington D.C. based real estate development firm, partnered with Cheeriodicals to assemble and deliver 152 “big green boxes of cheer” to patients at Children’s National Health System on December 7, 2017.

Approximately 200 Foulger-Pratt employees volunteered their time to assemble the Cheeriodicals gift boxes, which were filled with magazines and activity books, room decorations, puzzles, stickers, and games for the children to enjoy. During a special team building event at their corporate offices, the Foulger-Pratt team made a special effort to work together assembling the boxes.

“We were thrilled to lead the team from Foulger-Pratt to assemble the Cheeriodicals for delivery to the patients and families at Children’s National,” said Gary Parisher, President at Cheeriodicals. “Foulger-Pratt has visibly impacted the landscape of the Washington D.C. area, and it was exciting to see their giving spirit extend in a personal way to children who need it most.”

After a special delivery to the hospital, free of charge, by Two Men and a Truck, Foulger-Pratt and Cheeriodicals representatives began handing out the boxes to patients' families at the hospital. Katie Webb, Certified Child Life Specialist at Children’s National Health System, helped coordinate the delivery at the hospital.

“While providing the best care possible to our patients, there is a significant amount of give and take in the hospital environment. Symptoms are given and recorded, temperatures are taken.  Medicine is given and lab draws are collected. Today, with the help of Cheeriodicals and Foulger-Pratt we were able to give boxes of cheer to patients while taking only smiles in return. Thank you to Cheeriodicals and Foulger-Pratt for making this possible,” says Katie.
